Your Word Is Truth

Jesus, please continue to keep watch over us as we try to follow Your words in our daily lives. Help us to fully understand what truth is. Holy Spirit inspire us. Amen. John 17: 11b-19.

The Hour Has Come

Jesus, You came to earth to do as the Father wished. You gave us what He gave to You. Through the act of accepting Your gift from the Father, those of long ago found themselves worthy of being prayed for by You. Pray for us O Lord that we may accept what You give in love of the Father. Prepare a place for us in Your heavenly kingdom. Amen. John 17: 1-11

You Conquered The World

Jesus,, You have conquered the world. You conquered it by tolerating its humiliation and crucifixtion, without resistance, knowing that the Father loved You and willed Your sacrifice to atone for our sins and to announce His love. Lord, help us in our struggles. Amen. John 16: 29-33

Belonging To Jesus

Jesus, count us among the ones that belong to the Father's heavenly kingdom. Help us to find peace and serenity as we live out our days on earth. Help us to find refuge in You as we do Your work as modern day disciples. Lord, grant that the Catholic Church find the strength to renew its members knowledge and trust in Your teachings and requirements. Amen. 1 John 4: 11-16

Speak Clearly To Us

Jesus, speak clearly to us as You did to Your Disciples after Your ascension to the Father. Lord help us to see more clearly everyday that You indeed came from the Father. The Father sent You because He loves us. Deepen our love of You so that we are worthy of the Father's love. Holy Spirit, inspire us with Your gifts. Amen. John 16:23b-28

Ask In My Name

Jesus,guide us to ask the Father for things in Your name. Give us the wisdom to pray for those things that will move us closer to You. Help us to understand that sometimes by denying our requests, You give us exactly what we need, not what we want. Lord, turn our tears of anguish into tears of joy. Amen.

From Heaven's Outlook

Jesus,look down on us from Your seat at the right hand of the Father. Protect us and keep us focused on what You taught us while on earth. Open us to the influence of the Holy Spirit, who remains with us to carry on Your work. Amen. Mark 16: 15-20

Help Us Understand

Jesus, open our eyes, ears and all of our senses to accept what the Holy Spirit is continually proclaiming for us. Holy Spirit, hover around us and provide for us the seeds to grow rich harvests by our deeds, thoughts and words. There is so much more to the love of the Father for us that we are incapable of understanding. Help us to understand. Help us to wonder and thirst for Your knowledge. Holy Spirit enlighten us. Amen. John 16: 12-15

The Advocate

Jesus,, You are still here by way of the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is three equal parts that we are incapable of understanding fully. Help us to more fully appreciate and feel moved by the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit inspire us to do God's will. Amen JOhn 16: 5-11

Not Falling Away

Jesus,You left the earth to return to the Father. You knew that it would be very difficult for Your disciples and also for everyone that believes in You. The Holy Spirit, the Advocate who supported your disciples is still here to support us. Lord we need that support and guidance more than ever. Your words are constantly twisted and refuted by so many. Help us to be true Christians and remain in You. Allow us to experience Your peace, even in the midst of unrest and darkness. Jesus, You are forever and our lives are merely a moment that comes and goes. Yet, what we do in that moment means how we spend eternity. Jesus, help us to strive for everlasting time with You, the Father and the Holy Ghost. Amen. John 15:26 - 16:4.

As The Father Loves Me

Jesus, You are loved by the Almighty Father and You love us as He loves You. Your time with us on earth shows a new kind of love. It is a love that requires enduring suffering and humiliation at the hands of those who do not understand. Even suffering at the hands of those who do understand but who are confused and lost. The Father loved us so dearly that He sent His only Son, You, to save us by losing His life for us. Jesus, strengthen us to show true love, even if it is only speaking up for You in a world that is rapidly abandoning You and aiming to make Your teachings extinct. Amen. John 15: 9-17

Hated By The World

Jesus, thank You for choosing us to be Your servant as well as the receiver of Your service and love. You are right, being chosen by You makes us hated by the world. What You teach is against what the world teaches. What You call love is far from what the world calls love. Lord, keep us close to You and help us to stand tall in Your name as we face the world's message with Your message. Thank You for choosing us to help You carry Your cross. Amen.

Planting Seeds

Jesus, I want to follow Your commandments and share in Your friendship. You are the unimaginable almighty and to be chosen by You to be a friend is beyond my ability to comprehend. You say follow Your commandment to love one another as our price to pay. Why is that so hard to do? Jesus, give me the strength to do as You ask. Help me to understand that the fruit I bear by loving those around me, also leaves behind a seed that can grow and bear more fruit by another. You say so much in so few words. Jesus, open my mind and heart. Amen. John 15: 12-17

Love

Jesus, how magnificent it is to imagine being loved by You. To be held in Your loving arms and consoled and hugged. You laid down Your life for us. Thank You for Your love and salvation. Amen.

Help Me Be Fruitful

Jesus, keep me firmly attached to You, the life sustaining vine. Help me to see that I am part of You, just like many others are part of You. Your words, the Father's plan and the Holy Spirit continually prune me and keep me fruitful. Save me however from being lost to the flames by allowing others to remove me from my vine - You. Jesus inspire me to use what You teach me each day of my life. Amen.

Peace Be With You

John 14: 27-31
Jesus, let us feel the peace that You offer to us. Touch our hearts and minds to see and feel beyond what we know and have experienced in this life. Peace of mind and peace on earth have been a struggle since the beginning of time. Transform the world by the work of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Advocate

Jesus, the Father loves us so much that He sent You to die for our sins. You spent Your time on earth preaching and instructing us on how to live. Yet even those who walked beside You and heard the words come from Your mouth had difficulty believing. But the Father loved us despite our doubts and sent the Holy Spirit to continue Your saving work after You returned to Him. Holy Spirit, enlighten our minds and hearts and help us to become pleasing to You, the Father and the Son. Amen.

Jesus The Vine

Jesus, You sustain us spiritually and physically when we remain faithful to You. Right now, the ground in which You, the vine, is planted is parched and has very few nutients. Yet, through Your infinite power and love for us, You still supply us with what we, the branches, need to remain alive and bear fruit. Lord, help us to trust in You and the Father to tend us and keep us healthy in every way. We know that You will use us, Your branches, to transmit Your nourishment to bear good and abundant fruit. Amen.

Ask In His Name

Jesus, help us to honor Your name in our daily works. You have invited us to ask for what we need in Your name and it will be granted. Clear our minds to understand these words and not reduce them to meaning that You will grant every wish we ask for. Give us the wisdom and vision to see that our prayers are often answered in ways that we could never imagine. You are almighty and able to do all things. Lord, help us see, feel and honor the Father as we honor and serve You. Jesus save us. Amen.

Seeing The Father

Jesus, please help us to see the Father in You, Your words and those who we meet every day. The truth of the Holy Trinity is so far beyond our ability to comprehend. Your simple proclamation that when we see You, we see the Father is so direct and so easy, it seems much too hard to believe. We need to believe as children, as You also said. Lord, assist us to listen to Your words and simply have faith in your words. Be our refuge in this world of growing seperation from You. Holy Trinity help us. Amen.

The Ones Who Call

Jesus, You have been sending Your disciples to us since Your ministry on earth to tell us Your good news. But at the same time, there are others who come to us, speaking of You who were not sent by You. It is hard to tell at times who we should listen to. Lord, help us to make the right choices. We want so badly to be able to filter out all of the noise and confusion that we encounter. Being at peace in You is our fondest desire.

The Father's Words

Jesus, the Father's words are Your words. Whenever we follow Your words, we obey the Father who sent You. Through You we are invited to everlasting life. Jesus, touch our hearts and help us to accept without reservation Your invitation. We are in such need of Your mercy and love. Your mercy and love are placed at our feet, and like the people so long ago we cannot believe without a struggle. Please remain with us, through the Holy Spirit, to continue to remind us of Your love for us. You never give up on us, yet we give up on You so often. We are sorry. Amen.

In Their Hands

Jesus,You hold us in Your hand and You will not let us go. You are the invisible hand that does the work of God the Father at His command. Hold us tightly and help us to feel safe and secure in Your loving grasp. Lord, You know that we often squirm and fight to escape Your embrace. We are often attracted to the hands of another. When we stray, let us feel the discomfort of home sickness and return ourselves to Your hand. Jesus, keep us safe and close to You. Amen.

They Know My Voice

Jesus, You call us by name everyday. We hear Your voice. Many times we fail to follow behind You as You lead Your flock. The voices of the false shepherds call out our names and we follow them. But in the distance, we hear You calling out to us. You love us and want us back with our flock. Jesus, You are the gate to eternel life. You are our salvation. Please open our ears and hearts to be faithful followers. Allow us to surrender to Your loving care and shepherding to eternal life with You. Amen.

The Good Shepherd

Jesus,You are our shepherd. You keep watch over us, even though we have been scattered far and wide. You know and love all of us with the same measure. Jesus, protect us as we graze, wander and get lost. Always bring us back to Your flock where we will find safety and love. Help us to desire to please You and make Your watch less tiring by remaining close to You. Jesus, we are Your flock. Amen.

To Whom Shall We Go?

Jesus,You said to Your disciples that Your words are hard to hear. You asked them if they would leave You like the others and walk down an easier path. They chose to walk with You toward truth and eternal life. Although walking the other way is easier and offers more immediate rewards, we need Your constant attention and love to keep us in Your protective shadow. Your path is tough and unpopular, yet to walk it requires the Father's invitation and blessing. Intercede for us to the Father that He keep our invitation open until we meet our end in You. Amen.

Eat My Flesh

Jesus, when You said to Your followers, "eat My flesh and drink My blood", many did not understand and they walked away from You. We are like the followers who walked away even today. We still hear Your words and see Your example and find them either hard to hear or hard to follow. Lord, help us as we listen for Your instructions and strengthen us to carry them out. Your body and blood is available to us everyday at the Holy Mass. We now know what Your words meant so long ago. Let us be thankful for the gift of Yourself that is celebrated every hour of everyday throughout the world.Amen.
