"For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you."

Jesus, your instructions and example are so hard for us to follow. We are really weak and it is so easy for us to hate those who hate us, give to others and expect more in return, shun those who do not think like we think, and show no mercy to those who have been mean to us. Lord, only with your help and grace can we risk being what you expect us to be. Holy Spirit, put your gifts to work in us so that we can rise above our instinct to strike back when we are threatened or fearful. Instill in us the generosity to give of ourselves in a way that provides others with the love of Christ. Amen. Luke 6: 27-38
